  • Community Service meets the 1st Wednesday at the Roy Library. Asked us to wear OCC Shirts when doing service projects, such as helping with the Antelope Island fire cleanup. Scott Sneddon at DIY Printing offered to donate club shirts!
  • Publicity was asked to create shirt design
  • New Member & Mentoring Committee asks all members to complete the brand-new MEMBER SURVEY here
  • Photowalks & Activities' first event is the Zion's Trip. The December photowalk will be the lights on 25th street led by Bill Gerrard. Yellowstone spring trip is in the planning stages, inspired by Scott's presentation!

August 2016 Competition Results & Club Purpose, Committee Discussion

What's New

The Club voted to proceed in creating new committees:

• New Member & Mentoring
• Community Service
• Photowalks & Trips
• Publicity

These committees meet regularly (for now, at least once a month) outside of the normal club meeting. Each of these committees has specific goals. Each committee should choose a leader, and membership is capped at 8 per committee.

I have selected Scott Mumford (Publicity), Lynn Taylor (Community Service), Kelly Farley (New Member & Mentoring), and Taunya James (Photowalks & Trips) to advise the committees.

At the August Meeting

I asked the membership this question: what do we want to do BEYOND competitions, to serve our mission statement? Here it is:

Our mission is to provide an atmosphere of cooperation amongst those interested in photography in any way or method. This will be accomplished by holding meetings, activities, and events that bring individuals together in a learning and mentoring environment for the betterment of all involved.

I also shared a huge GOAL I have for the Club, which is to have a permanent home in October. This is a BIG goal and it involves the Club being able to establish a vision for ourselves. I am convinced we can make this happen together!

Thank you for your participation. I was stunned by how many people joined committees at the meeting. I am looking forward to what we can create together, for the Ogden photo community & the greater Ogden area! Get out there & shoot.... :)
