The Healing Field – A Tribute to America’s Heroes

Now through August 2nd, 5,000 flags will be setup at the Weber County Fairgrounds, the largest tribute to the troops and America’s heroes.

“Visitors and volunteers from the surrounding communities will experience an amazing display of patriotism acres of large U.S. flags atop 8ft poles in perfect rows on a field of green.

This living display of heroism will fly as a temporary patriotic tribute to the strength and unity of Americans, and will honor all Veterans who served our nation to preserve our security and freedom.

Northern Utah Photowalking

The Northern Utah Photowalking group will be doing their monthly meet at the Ogden Nature Center this Saturday, July 11th at 10:00 AM.

"During the summer, Ogden Nature Center is hosting free fare Saturdays, so it will not cost anything to get in (though I am sure that any kind of donations would be appreciated). This will be fun for all ages so if you can't find a sitter, bring the kiddies along."

Photowalking Utah: Scott Kelby’s 2nd Annual Worldwide Photo Walk

When: July 18, 2009
Time: 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM

We will be meeting at the Jordan River Parkway parking lot in West Jordan (approximately 1000 W 7000 South) and taking an evening stroll on the Jordan River Parkway trail system. Along the way there will be numerous subjects to photograph such as birds, small animals, people, flowers and not to mention your fellow photowalkers. The trail is a wide paved system with plenty of shade. The group will be making a round trip of approximately 1.5 miles as we walk Northward toward the Murray Parkway Golf Course before returning. If it is a normal Salt Lake City summer evening, you will want to bring plenty of water since it can still be rather warm in the evening.

At the completion of the walk, several photographers will be demonstrating/teaching some outdoor portrait methods for those participants who would like to stick around. Photographer of all skill levels are welcome, regardless of the type of camera they use. From a cameraphone owner to a professional SLR shooter, anyone is welcome.

For more information, visit Scott Kelby's website.
